Youth Accounts

At Denver Community, we believe it's never too early to learn how to manage money appropriately. Our youth program is designed to teach kids of all ages how to do just that.

The following accounts will teach youth how to save, use checks, and build credit. They'll also receive a FREE newsletter twice a year full of helpful money tips.

Piggy Bank Account

A Piggy Bank Account from Denver Community is a great way to teach kids from birth to age 12 the value of savings. Open a Piggy Bank Account today and receive a free piggy bank!

Manage My Money Account

Available for members age 13 to 18, the Manage My Money Account is a great way to introduce youth to the benefits of saving and checking. After the account has been in good standing for six months, and the Manage My Money Checking Assessment is completed, members 16 and over can open a Manage My Money Checking Account with checks and a free Visa Check Card.

Credit Builder

Build good credit now, and reap the rewards of great rates later. Denver Community's Credit Builder loan is a no-risk way to establish a credit history. $500 is placed in a 6-12 month share certificate, and the loan's APR* is only 3% above the current share certificate rate. At the end of the term of regular payments, you will have paid off a loan and have a fully matured 6-12 month Share Certificate on your account.

Stored Value Card

The Stored Value Card does not require credit approval and can be used anywhere Visa is accepted. Just deposit money onto the card, and use it until the funds are depleted, at which time the card can be re-loaded. There's no danger of overdrawing and no interest to be paid.

Open An Account

Opening an account is easy! To open any of the accounts, just have an adult (18 or over) co-sign on the account, then deposit and maintain a $25 balance.
